Stunning design necklaces

by Amay on Jun.16, 2009, under fashion designer

Nature is a massive print and colour inspiration this summer with designers such as Stella Mc Cartney and Balenciaga both adopting beautiful floral prints in vibrant hues to celebrate Mother Earth.

This recognition of our fragile planet also comes at a time when environmental concerns and the move towards eco-friendly living is becoming increasingly apparent.

The butterfly is proving to be extremely popular particularly amongst jewellery designers who recognise its beautiful pendant potential.

Butterfly necklaces, designer and highstreet are popping up everywhere this season and here are two of my favourites! This stunning Kenneth Jay Lane Gold butterfly necklace to the left is by a designer that is renowned for his glamorous jewellery collections. This gold plated necklace has a striking butterfly pendant that will look fab during the day with a floaty white kaftan or a pretty day dress. For £55, this necklace can be purchased from Net-a-porter.

Two kinds of design glasses online

by Amay on Jun.16, 2009, under fashion designer

Online shopping is very convenient and easy. You don’t need to go to the boutiques or shopping malls just to buy some clothing or other stuffs. The only thing that you need to do is to go online.

At Glasses Direct we are 100% committed to bringing you the most fashionable and desirable designer glasses around. We buy frames from some of the most established manufacturers who also supply the high street opticians and we demand the same levels of attention to detail, durability and build quality. We recently added two new designer glasses brands to our range.

Cat Glasses - Iconic American manufacturers, CAT is all about hard-working, engineered products for people who want performance and wearable style. My favorite Cat CTO 8003, a fine pair of semi-rimless glasses with a very thin matt metal rim. The thin flex arms are plastic but for a 4.5cm-long exposed metal angular cut-out design near the hinges.

Speedo Glasses - From global sportswear brand Speedo you can expect the highest in vision performance, comfort and fit, plus the latest in sports colours and styling. My favorite Speedo SPO 7508, a semi-sporty-looking semi-rimless glasses with a thin metal rim widens into a short point at the sides, drawing attention to the eyes. Just like a pair of speedo Trunks, they make a great package

Animal design fashion is popular

by Amay on Jun.16, 2009, under fashion designer

It is difficult to omit the fact the fashion world today that lingerie, in particular, is a hot spot for animal print. It can be effortlessly seen that animal prints can be found on everything from corsets to stockings, in minimal amounts and as the center piece. For example, a feisty leopard print bustier with red ribbons can make for a hot and edgy look or a zebra trimmed lace camisole set is a engaging look with just an added touch of vibrant fabric.

Animal print patterns have survived well through the 80’s and are still everywhere in the fashion world nowadays. It should be said that seen by some as trashy, animal prints are actually one of the longest standing patterns in fashion that can be seen on everything from lingerie to shoes to blankets and curtains. In fact animal print stays in style in the fashion world since it can be used so diversely in several styles. A lot of you will agree that a mini dress that is entirely leopard print can have the wild, fun, and flirty look, while a black mini dress with a leopard print trim, or leopard print shoes, add an edge to an otherwise elegant outfit.

The other essential thing to add here is that animal print can come in a variety of colors and still be identifiable from the pattern. For instance, the classic black and white zebra print can be a bold statement, but in the case that the print is done in blue or yellow hues, it becomes softer and more womanly. Stars on the red carpet are constantly seen with animal print touches, whether it’s a red dress with leopard print heels, or a zebra print tie, the classic print adds a touch of fun and spontaneity to any outfit.

Designer shoes have a great appeal

by Amay on Jun.16, 2009, under fashion designer

Why do women love designer shoes, perhaps because out of all the designer accessories or clothing designer shoes are the most accessible and attainable? Designer shoes are expensive but not totally exorbitant in price, a beautiful pair Gucci sling backs can be bought for a few hundred pounds at various outlet and online boutiques. This amount of money is viewed today by most women as an achievable amount to save for.

Designer shoes have a great appeal. There is a designer shoe to suit every foot, whether you are tall, small, fat or thin you can still purchase beautiful designer shoes and they will look beautiful when worn regardless of body shape, and sure to make you feel a million dollars. Moreover, television programmes such as “Sex in the City” or films like “The Devil Wears Prada” all serve to perpetuate the myth that all females love designer shoes. Most people have heard of designers such as Christian Louboutins or Manolo Blahnik, and these are perhaps the must have names in designer footwear but more modern designer such as Kurt Geiger have been very prominent on the catwalks. Latest shoe designs have the emphasis on detail, whether it is fringing, laces, straps or buckles, styles include very high heels, flat pumps and a return of the platform high heel.

Designer shoes indicate taste and hint at affluence, designer shoes are now easy to purchase with many online stores specialising in designer shoes. Many of us would love to have wardrobes filled with racks containing designer shoes, few of us attain this but many of us can reveal a pair of designer heels from the likes of Prada, Fendi or Dolce and Gabbana that have been purchased from an online shop or auction site… After all who’s to know how much you paid for the perfect pair of Audrey Hepburn style Gucci’s!

Designer handbags

by Amay on Jun.16, 2009, under fashion designer

What is the appeal of a designer bag? Who really cares? Of all the things I could possibly spend my money on I think a designer handbag would be way down the list. I have plenty of original bags, though I generally run around with my gym bag. My bags are mostly from high street stores, but at least they are not fakes.

I know it is lovely to match a handbag, shoes etc to a stunning outfit but how many of us in the real world wear the stunning outfits on a regular basis? Yes, I buy the occasional very special outfit for say a wedding or christening and usually accessorize but even then I don’t think I have ever been able to run to a designer bag. I am not saying I wouldn’t love to have a designer bag but I just can’t afford one so I have learned not to miss what I have never had.

Gucci, Prada, YSL, Chanel, DKNY! Do I sigh longingly after these? No, not really, I only ever read Hello in the dentist’s or hairdressers so I am not really up on what is hot and what is not. I am a mother of three children, dress in an up-to-date but practical way and perhaps I am a bit of a yummy mummy but I don’t need a special bag to make me feel special.

For spring there are lots of very pretty feminine evening dresses in the shops, and there are styles suitable for formal events or more casual events. Damart are also a popular retailer for beautiful evening dresses.
, Here are some basic rules that should be observed for choosing an evening dress for any occasion:

The fit – it is essential that the evening dress fits well, no matter what the designer name is if the dress is ill-fitting it will look awful. To ensure a good fit be honest and perhaps seek a second opinion when choosing the dress. Ensure the dress fits perfectly and it will look great.

Know what looks good on and stick to this style – it is great to be fashionable and trendy but only if the style suits. It is also very good to personalise a particular look with accessories, jewellery or make-up.

Be sure of what the event is and dress accordingly, is it a cocktail event, or a sit down dinner event, is it going to be indoors or outdoors, or even on water.

Know your budget- Budget for the whole outfit, including shoes, accessories, jewellery, make-up and perhaps even a hair appointment;

Lastly, be aware of the current fashion trends and if purchasing a new dress go for something that is appropriate for the occasion and suitable for you and your body shape.

Watches are considered to be one of the most valuable possessions a person can have. Since then, watches were born and from time to time it became fashionable and considered as one of the elegant accessories in the world. Either Swiss made or designed by famous labels, watches allow you to mix and match your personality and lifestyle.

Here is a list of some of the world’s finest luxury watches that are highly praised in the market. Don’t ask me which is the most expensive, I don’t have the luxury of time to compare:

The watch has 5 crowns, push pieces all in 18K gold and folding clasp in pink or white gold and a black crocodile strap.

Celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Swiss Army Knife, Victorinox released this 1884 limited-edition alarm clock. A gorgeous timepice with the same steel spring mechanism, folding out with a reassuring snap. A rare collector’s item is arriving on November 2009. You’ll surely love this travel watch because the side-panels contains the famous toothpick and tweezers found in all Victorinox pocket knives!
